Storm Drain Infrastruture Improvement Meeting - Monday, April 10, 2023
The Town of Easton will hold an informational meeting on three storm drain infrastructure improvement projects on Monday, April 10th at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the Easton Volunteer Fire Department, 315 Leonard Reick Drive.
The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the location, scope, and approximate timing of the storm drain improvement projects. The projects are being undertaken to reduce flooding in known problem areas, provide additional storm drain capacity, provide water quality improvements, and improve infrastructure resiliency.
At this time, three storm drain improvement projects in the Tanyard Branch Watershed are in the early design phase. These projects will significantly impact travel and parking on several important roads during construction, including: August Street, Mill Place, Center Lane, Turners Lane, Brewers Lane, North Street, and East Avenue. Limited disruptions will also occur on Harrison Street, Hanson Street, Aurora Street, Goldsborough Street, and Pennsylvania Avenue during construction. Active construction on these projects will not start prior to late summer/early fall 2023.
The design and construction phases of these projects are being managed by the Town of Easton Engineering Department. The Department will provide updates and advanced notice of lane and road closures on the Town’s website (https://EastonMD.gov), Facebook page (Town of Easton), and Instagram page (townofeastonmd).
